Subject: "Willy Games: The First 30 Years Quiz" - questions

Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to present the complete list of questions proposed for Willy Games: The First 30 Years Quiz. It can be downloaded from here

Please let me know any comments you may have concerning the questions! You can send them to me or, if you publish them online, please send me the link (unless you post in response to my query here or on JetSet Willy & Manic Miner Community). Please send your comments preferably by 8 November 2015, and definitely not later than the beginning of December – I aim to release the game before the end of 2015.

I am looking for comments concerning:

- Questions where you see a basic error, such as more than one correct answer or no correct answer.

Please note that I can send you the answer key if you want to see which answers I consider to be correct and make sure there are no mistakes there – please let me know if you are interested.

- Questions where you see any other errors.

- Suggestions concerning moving questions around – if you strongly feel any of them should belong to a different section, because they are either too easy or too hard for the section they are currently in.

- ANY language comments. I am not a native English speaker, but I would like the quiz to be immaculate from the linguistic point of view and sounding as natural to native speakers as possible.

If you suggest changes to any of the questions, please kindly suggest a new wording as well (if I have failed to word a question perfectly the first time, I may also fail on the second attempt).

- Any other comments you may have.

Please note that the quiz has been designed based on the following premises (with some minor exceptions):

- Only one answer out of four is correct in each case.

The name of every released game is mentioned in the quiz at least once. Most games are mentioned at least twice, and some are mentioned even more times. I believe the quiz should have an informative function apart from being a challenge, and I hope some people looking at some game names will say, e.g., "Wow, I didn't realise such a game existed! I must have a look at it!"

- The name of every author of every released game is mentioned in the quiz at least once. The names of some other people who have contributed to the development of MM and JSW games (without actually releasing one) are mentioned as well. Some people who have made a particularly important contribution to the scene are mentioned more than once.

 - The mentions of the game titles and people's names are spaced between questions (each mention of the same name is generally separated from other mentions by at least 10 questions).

- The length of the question never exceeds 96 characters (including spaces), i.e. three rows on the Spectrum game screen. I would like (and need) to keep it this way.

-  The correct answers are distributed roughly equally between A, B, C and D, both overall and in each part of the quiz.

- The questions are at the bottom of the page (I use the room name space for them) and the answers are above them. That's why the word "above" appears in many questions.

I hope you will have fun with the quiz and please send me your comments or share them online!

Daniel
