Sorry, that should just have read "alter the Base Sprite Index" - there's no need to change the Animation Mask (in fact, to do so would alter the number of sprite-frames used by the guardian).
However, my point stands that a bit of post-editing is needed in any case, in order to ensure that each guardian faithfully displays the correct sequence of sprite-frames - and I believe that that post-editing (as applied in MIRRORJSW) is actually more convoluted than the relatively simple process which could be used to properly invert the initial sprite-frame!
