I would also point out that neither my fix, nor Andrew's as far as I can tell, prevents Willy from turning Air blocks into de facto Water blocks. i.e. the blocks in the top two cell-rows which he passes through when he transcends the top/bottom of a cavern.
N.B. This effect occurs at the level of the primary attribute buffer, so the Air blocks are restored if Willy loses a life within that cavern, or revisits it the 'next time round'. It isn't a permanent effect, unlike the overwriting of Cavern 7's attribute layout by some of Willy's graphic bytes.
