Subject: "patch vectors"
i've just had a read of the documentation for
geoff's linux jsw editor, which has unveiled a bit of the
mystery surrounding geoff mode.
the 'patch vector'
thing is simply an interruption in the game cycle
allowing you to append your own routine. well it's news to
me anyway :) ..this would explain the 'willy's
driving licence' room where willy's coordinates are
mirrored regularly. i'm thinking that this would also make
things like switches a plausible reality too, by poking
and testing for an on/off value and then poking
blocks into the room conditionally.
the other
features of geoff mode are the wraparound function, which
gives one directional movement to horizontals and
verticals; the ability to change the willy sprites (both in
the 'lives' display and in the screen); and of course
speed for horizontal guardians (yummy :).
also,
the arrows function differently, but it's no big
thing.
