Subject: Re: designing on paper

"you design them on paper first?! wow!
:)

i used to do that but generally don't bother for
the rooms now. instead i make a plan on paper of how
the rooms will connect, what room number they are,
and the rough idea of the rooms (sewers, mineshaft,
etc) and the topography. this really helps when i go
to actually design the rooms because i know what
section it is supposed to be, or if it is a link section,
or whatever, and it stops those horrible continuity
errors like the ones in willy to the rescue (just look
at that map! :) "

For myself I must admit
that I just build the rooms and hope I can get all the
connections right, something that really shows in Time Hole
:(
The problem is somewhat reduced in JSWvsB, because it
was a necessity that the rooms fit certain
arrangements (A pyramid and the four temples to be exact). The
next game will be more confusing connections wise, or
at least I hope so, because I want it to be...
"eccentric" ;)

And that should be my last post on the
next game - I'm keeping it under wraps
