Subject: another attractive design feature
in addition to 'forbidden holy ground' and
'promised lands', i would like to add another un-named
design feature to the list of x-factor - enducing
ploys.
dono what you would call them, but they are areas of
the screen which are surplus to the game, but add a
sense of naturalness to the area by providing places to
go which you don't actually need to. they look even
better if you populate them with a guardian or
three.
a bit like forbidden ground, only you can get to
it. the question still remains, "why would you want
to?" but that's probably what adds to their
value.
i'm trying to think if there's a branch on the
megatree in jsw that you don't need to climb onto.... not
sure if there is... but anyway that's the general
idea.
