Gawp, I think you
should put it in as it is. It's faithful to the
original, and will allow us to have a nostalgic surf, with
the original look and feel of Erix1's site, which was
excellent. It would also save a lot of effort!
I
think you have a point with the "corporate image" (I
hate that word - it makes it sound like a business!
;-) I prefer the term "house style"), but it is
greatly outweighed in this case, where you're plugging in
HTML pages with their own style as well as content
("Style over Content"? ;-) ). It would be a different
matter if you were just putting in text (such as the
Kari Krisnkov diaries), or even /my/ web pages which
are deliberately very plain (I believe in
minimalistic website design, because having a lot of graphics,
frames and stuff is a burden not only to the website
designer, but also to people like me who have to view it
with a crap, slow browser! ;-) ). In this case, I
think you should just put the MMT pages in as they
are.
BTW, I'm currently typing The Time Hole into my real
Spectrum, with only 16 rooms to go (48-63). It's got some
great rooms, which lift the game to above average in my
opinion ("The Window Box" and "Radiation Bay" were two
that I saw last night). The plot of The Time Hole is
intriguing, too. It's got one or two unfair death traps,
though, such as "You really should save here" - I can't
save because I'm not playing it on an emulator, even
though the game was developed on one! ;-) And I didn't
find the three floor blocks at the top of "Priests'
Hole" "hell to cross": I managed to do it without
losing a life at the first attempt - I just jumped from
the first platform to the third, and had no problem
avoiding the VGs. What's the joke in
"Munki"?
