Subject: Re: JSWED

hi john, saving the game and porting to the
emulator really isn't that much hastle. i guess it's worth
it to take advantage of the extra features.

i
did however notice a problem with the program, and
would like to put forward some ideas for possible
improvements (that is, if the program is still being
developed)...

firstly, sometimes in the guardian editor, it crashes when
you choose a diagonal. i don't know why, but the
screen gets filled up with the marker that shows you the
path. it's like it's wrapped around it'sself
indefinately. but the program hangs properly, you get a squeak
when you try to press a key.

secondly, it would
be *really* neat if you could move about the rooms
via their connection scheme whilst editing, as per
paul rhodes' editor. in addition to this, it would be
cool to be able to copy colour/graphics schemes from
one room to another (i'm talking about the 8x8's
here) if you want to have a continuing theme over more
than 1 room.

oh and i just remembered, this is
a kind of bug- when you are on the screen editor
and you can see the guardian's paths, their rightmost
end (for the vertical guardians) does not match the
rightmost end for their path when you are playing the game,
it's always one square out.

other than that,
it's brilliant! although a windows port would be nice
:), the screen keeps flicking and changing
resolutions for seemingly no reason. am i doing something
wrong here (i am running it from windows like i do all
my dos programs because i don't know how to do dos
properly).

hope that helps you (that is if you are working on a
next version of jswed).

thanks,
sendy
