Subject: Re: A 3D JSW/MM rewrite
"I *wish* Matthew Smith would give it a go. Who
better?"
I think this is the important issue, as the
brilliance of MM/JSW has nothing to do with the Willy
'character', but rather a lot to do with Matt Smith being able
to translate his quirky personality (watch the Thumb
Candy clip!) and his uncanny feeling for game play into
a game with almost photographic accuracy.
As
such, the acquisition of the license by Jester is a bit
of a non-event. If Matt Smith was going to release a
new game then *that* would be something (and he is
working on something - check out his usenet
posts).
It does, however, raise copyright issues, and I
would recommend that everyone acknowledges in their
documentation that MM & JSW is copyright Jester
Interactive.
Stuart.
