Presumably so.
There are plenty of aesthetic features
in We Pretty. The `green dreams' in
"THENEARLYINGONESERRED" spring to mind immediately as examples of
reachable aesthetic guardians. The `aesthetic carrot' (i.e.
the conveyor) in "TH E CAR ROT OF REF LEC T I O N"
also springs to mind. There are some reachable
aesthetic guardians in Goodnite Luddite's "A SUNBURST
NIGHT" as I wanted to have eight Karis of different
colours.
MM:Hobbit and JSW:LOTR contain a lot of iconic features,
such as the white hand in "The Road to Isengard" (an
unreachable aesthetic guardian), and the smoke-rings in
"There and Back Again".
The distinction between
unreachable and reachable aesthetic guardians corresponds to
the distinction between Forbidden Holy Ground and
places where it is possible but unnecessary to
go.
There are also guardians which actually *help* rather
than hinder you, as they act as cyanide pills. The use
of arrows to kill you if you get trapped is standard
practice (e.g. "A CROSS T HEPALEP ARA BOL AOFJOY"), and
you can jump into the giant head of Monica Seles in
Goodnite Luddite's "MEA CULPA" to avoid being swept out of
the room by the conveyor-ramp (a rather unfair
one-way exit if I do say so myself! ;-) ).
If you
play the original JSW with the guardians removed, you
may know how frustrating it is to get trapped in The
Banyan Tree! ;-)
