"yes, i have *almost* settled on the name 'who
cares'. terribly pretentious (like the rest of the
game)"

And why not? I think it might be fun to just go flat
out and make the most pretentious, confusing Willy
game ever. I might do that myself at some point. But
then, I do like Genesis

"but hopefully the new
features, ingeneous design and groovy colour schemes will
save it ;)"

If only Willy Takes A Trip wasn't
taken eh? :)

"p.s. in my experience, girls
/generally/ prefer platform-type games to other
genres.

I think videogames were for a long time seen as a
boys' toy. To reinforce this theory, the first game I
ever heard of made for girls was (I swear this is
true) Barbie Goes Shopping

"and i was always
getting teased because i wasn't into the flight
simulators, dreadful boxing games, strip poker, army
strategy, etc, etc ;)"

I've always loved platformers
and shoot 'em ups the best. Cannon Fodder wasn't bad,
but otherwise all those things you mentioned are dull
to me. And strip poker on the C64 leaves a *lot* to
be desired :)
