Subject: The latest Spectrum MM/JSW Games
I'm now up to strangel in typing MM/JSW games into my real Spectrum: I've done all the
non-room files, and typed in Rooms 0-47 so far. It's great to see another's game with so many
quirky features, especially the advances in invalid-arrow technology. But I suffered a
horrendous infinite-death scenario when I jumped over the pig in "sky lark" and fell slap through
the floor!! :-(
There are so many Montyish sprites in where's woody and strangel
that I'll have to play Monty On The Run again soon, to see them in their original place!
;-)
I'll be typing in the latest-released JSW game, Lee Tatlock's Willy vs the Vampire Lord, in
January 2002. So is anyone going to prevent me from being up to date for the first time in two
years, by releasing another game by January? :-) :-) It would be a shame if 2001 passed
without the release of a new Manic Miner game...
I'm currently in a trough of MM/JSW
editing because I'm busy preparing for my PhD viva in January (which may result in a
Matthew-Smithesque exile :-( ), and strangel is currently claiming all of the little time I can devote to
my Spectrum.
I'm looking forward to resuming work on Goodnite Luddite once more -
the target release date is 26th June 2002, but I don't want to rush it just for the sake
of that. My next MM game, Ma jolie, will also be released sometime in 2002 (possibly in
twenty weekly instalments).
After Goodnite Luddite and Ma jolie, I'll be working on
JSW:Party Willy and MM:Allana Truman (2003?), then JSW Iva (2004?). I'm also very keen to do a
seven-game JSW-adaptation of C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia, released in seven consecutive
years (I just missed the fiftieth anniversary, so it'll probably be 2003-2009 or
similar).
I'm so excited about the cinema-release of the first Lord Of The Rings film next week!
It's the first-ever film-adaptation of a JSW game! ;-)
