Subject: More info on Matt

Following is a copy of the mail I sent to Andrew Broad, he thought
you lot may appreciate it:

Keep believing, it truly is Matthew Smiths' website.

I used to live in the same 'commune' (actually a squat) in Holland
between 95-97, and met Matt living there, we got on quite well and I
was stunned to discover that the man that I saw every single day (in
various states) was the creator of possibly the best games to ever
hit the Speccy (in various states).

In 1997 I was deported from Holland, before which Matthew had moved
into a flat with 2 or 3 other 'computery' folk in Nordwijk I believe.
He also found and sold me a crap moped from Nordwijk which my other
friend promptly ran into the ground. :(

As I'm sure you're aware now, he was never a motorbike mechanic in
Holland, he was a bicycle repairman. He never bought the stolen bikes
from the dodgy kids who lived nearby who always popped round with a
couple of different bikes a day (some of the other residents would
buy them though).

Anyway, I've lost the plot slightly here. I was talking about me
being deported was I not? Yes I was. I got deported and lost all
contact with Matt, until one day while searching the net for news on
Matt, I discovered the 'Where is?' site with the link to The Good
Stuff.

I promptly sent off an email to the owner of the site to verify that
it really was him, and a few days later I got a response back,
proving to me it was him. Plus I don't know anyone on the net that
would have the photos he has on his site as they were taken while at
the squat (except other people at the squat - although nobody really
knew of him or even cared what his past entailed, apart from myself
anyway!)

He now lives 5 minutes from my workplace, and his house is a mess (no
change there then). :)

I hope you find my mail useful, and cleared up any confusion
regarding his 'disappearance' in Holland.
