Subject: More JSW stuff/and after I wrote this an apology for the size of th
I'm living up to my yahoo name tonight, or should I say this morning
I've had much booze hahaha. First up must apologize to SOA1000 for my
last post I meant C16 not 64, but maybe you should put the extra
screens from JSW2 on the C64 into your remix as well as the C16 ones.
Also after reading about that I dug out my old back ups and had a go
of the C16 versions of MM and JSW1/2 I laughed how crap hahaha.
Unfortunately I have the dragon games but can't get an emulator that
works or behaves itself anyway hahaha. Also does anyone know if any
of the other home micro versions from years gone by have extra rooms
e.g. BBC/Acorn electron, Amstrad etc? if so maybe those should be
slung in there as well. I ask this cos' I can't find them and maybe
somebody else has the emu's/games to tell, or maybe even the actual
computers?. Once again too does anyone know where I can get a
powerpack for A spectrum +3, I wanna edit JSW on the actual machine
:) Also I remember there was this really cool shop on the main road
near where I live called Bowman electronics. It sold budget speccy
games and other formats and that's the first time I ever saw the
perils of Willy, I used to go there every weekend and buy a game,
they were all £1.99 apart from titles by Firebird which were £1.59 ah
those were the days. One of my friends had an old VIC-20 albeit with
the A and S keys missing, but you could still prod the board with a
biro hahahaha. Anyway I even said to him one time I'll buy the perils
of Willy PLEASE get your VIC-20 out. After tonight I'm glad I didn't,
I finally downloaded the ROM and played it with VICE. What a pile of
shit, glad I am cos' I'm sure the perils of Willy was one of the few
games Mr Bowman had on his shelf that cost £2.99 at the time. Funny
thing is after years of bein' without a spectrum I got my +3 off a
friend in 93 (I swapped him it for a T-shirt hahahahaha a major score
on my behalf). I went to Bowman Electronics instantly and he was
still selling Speccy games some of them were the same ones from 1987,
I bought Streetfighter 1 for a laugh even though it cost me £3.99.
Unfortunately Mr Bowman sold up and I think he's dead now he was
about 200 years old when I bought streetfighter off him. But the
point is he still sold Speccy games in 93 and if he was still here he
probably still would. What a trooper hahaha I even remember when I
went in and bought Streetfighter he said to me haven't you got one of
those Super Nintendos now I haven't seen you for years, I replied I
have got A super Nintendo but I've just got another Speccy and I'm
lovin' every second of it. Streetfighter was the last Speccy game I
ever bought but certainly not the last one I played, I love that
misunderstood machine weither its got rubber keys or a built in
diskdrive/tapedeck and always will. One of my old school friends has
most of my old games and I think he sold them all with his +2 back in
91, I hate him for that since I had most of the free tapes off the
front of SU,YS and crash, but I hate him anyway he was a tit. But set
of tapes that did survive was my copy of they sold a million, it's in
the loft now gathering dust with about 400 C64 games one of my
friends gave me about 3 yrs ago, which was cool of him but I don't
actually have a C64 and can't get hold of one, anyone know where I can
get hold of a C64 :) Also did anyone ever hear rumours back in the
80's of an offensive version of JSW called Jet Set Dick it was the
talk of the school back when I was about 9 years old (1988) one kid
even said he had it, so I went to his house to play it. But it was a
hacked version his nerdy older brother had made. The title screen
said Jet Set Willy, and there was only one different room as far as I
can tell and all he'd done was change the name of the Master Bedroom
to the Fuck Palace. I exposed him as a fraud and have been lookin'
for this legendary and most likely non-existent game ever since.
Pardon the offensive lingo but there was supposedly a room called
Marias fanny hahaha, and Rim the Butler. I think it was lies because
surely it would be available by now. Who knows though, are any of the
authors here that nerdy older brother? and have you made any JSW
games? If so you know who I am! Also did anyone here the rumour back
in the 80's after JSW2 came out that the desert island was on JSW 1
as well? I never believed it and I know it isn't true but for a laugh
I'll tell you how to do it (even though I know it doesn't work).
Obviously the first JSW didn't have the trip switch room. but
supposedly you could visit the desert island by collecting the 2
items from "The Bow" last. this would make a boat appear from the
right which you could supposedly jump on and it would take you there.
I didn't believe it at the time, and know it's a lie now hahahaha.
Anyway sorry once again for a massive post mostly made up of
nostalgia and crap, but feel free to tell me any of your Speccy
memories from 198something, I'd love to hear them, and of any JSW
rumours from when you were younger. As most of you have seen a lot of
JSW rumours from yesteryear have come true and some may yet still. If
any of you ever heard about Jet Set Dick tell me, I'd love to know
what you heard. Even though I said my lst post would probably be my
last until Still Stealin' I was wrong hahaha.
DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!! (I could've gone on longer but you'd probably want
to kill me). :)
