Originally it was an affectation. But by now, Hacklevel refers to
the game engine, while Version refers to the room data. If you
load a JSW128 game into JSWED it'll upgrade it to the latest
Hacklevel.

Ah - I am enlightened! So would things like the position of the
toilet, or attributes of Maria, affect Version or Hacklevel?

Interestingly, the Dragon version also tries to prevent infinite
death. If Willy dies while falling (whether through hitting the
ground or a guardian) he is returned to the last place he was
standing on solid ground; even if this is is in a different room.
It leads to a different infinideath scenario, though, because it
may bring him back on top of a guardian.

Just like JSW II, in other words?

James McKay (of X128 fame) fixed JSW II to disable collision-
detection for three seconds after losing a life, thus avoiding the
nasty infinite-death scenario that results when you reappear in a
guardian's start position. He also did a 128K version that also
brings up a cheat-mode/teleport menu when you press 't'. Both
versions are available at:

While we're on the subject, does anyone have a copy of either of the
