homepage; JSW128 does the patching on a Spectrum, while JSW64 does the
patching under DOS/Windows/Unix. It's also how JSWED upgrades the game
engine from one to the other; those .hex files in
/usr/local/share/jswed are patches to the game engine containing just
the changes I made.
