Subject: Everything at present!
Hello again. I've just read lots of messages. I'm thinking Daniel has
some pretty good ideas going on here but the sheer workload would put
me off, not that I'd mind I really just don't have the time these
days to even think about that sort of thing, although I should
imagine the finished product (save the ongoing features of course)
would be enough to sit back to crack open a freezing cold beer and
say " I did that!". Good plan Daniel look forward to seeing it
emerge. Also about the copyrights and stuff for your website and
future projects. Feel free to use all of my stuff (Rooms, Sprites,
Graphics, and map the games if you like), just so long as (as
procedure is with this kind of thing) my name pops up somewhere in
the text file :) Oh and also feel free to mention all my future games
if you feel like it (only problem is I have no real idea when I'll be
able to release any of them anymore so for now the best timeline is
what Andrew has on his website). As for getting an insight as to what
authors feel about their games, All my readmes have an insight into
most (if not all) the rooms included in the finished product. If I
finish a room, I switch of my editor and add to the readme about that
room before I start the next. As for offering opinions on other
peoples games, it could cause some ill feeling if somebody blurts out
that a game is shit, but most people in the group in my time here
seem open to constructive criticism or pointers. Personally if
somebody points out a way to improve something in my game I'll mostly
take their advice. Of course not everybody likes criticism so it
could cause ill feelings or maybe discourage newer authors who are
just getting to grips with the scene into backing off (which is
something that nobody wants). I mean I now view the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!
as a bit of a turkey, but if it wasn't for that game the rest may not
exist. That is part of the reason why I intend to Spec-Ed it in the
future. It was my first official game (the first ever Willy game I
made was lost in the mists of time somewhere circa 1998, but it only
had minor changes since I had absolutely no idea what I was doing),
and the fact that it was my first release I hold love for it even if
my newer releases far outshadow it's simplicity (which sometimes can
be a games finest point good old back to basics simplicity). Also on
the subject of JSW:Mind control I think I messaged Sendy about the
time TU7 was released about it as I planned on doing a version of my
own. I may still do this as my plan was extremely different to yours
I was going to keep the alien at the bottom of the screen and use the
varied speed sprites of JSW64 to set the time limit with the alien
walking to the left first should a room require a longer time limit,
as for the story I never got that far but I quite liked the whole
Margeret Thatcher thing. If I ever do it maybe we can compare the 2
and maybe I could release mine as a sequel but not really a true
release A bit like JSW and JSWII. Oh well My brains gone into
overdrive and I think it's about to flatline due to my incessant
rambling.
Cheers
DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!
