Subject: For Alexandra about his problems with 64 engine.
Sendy, I think, I understand about what are you speaking. These
problems appear in JSWED - I'm not very good at hex editing (and
manual code editing at all) - so I can't fix them in any way.
About problem when JSWED shows you the last set of extra room
sprites. If it is needed to change the room and so to change the
images of these extra sprites in a new room - I open the window with
them, while working with the needed room (where you can edit them
pixel by pixel) - then I close this window and skip into previous
room and, again, in my(with which I have to work) room. Understand?
Since opening that window we've made JSW to show us the new set of
extra sprites. There is no other way, I suppose. =) It's not a
solution, just an advice. You've brobably know about it.
When JSWED allows you to edit only 5 or 8 extra sprites instead of
more sprites. It is because of free memory in every room. JSW64
engine has some free space for different usage - for guardians or for
sprites, for example. I suppose, that you have filled this empty
space with guardian characters, so there is less free space for
sprites. In my "[" version of JSW64 - it allows me to put 31
guardians into one room and 8 extra sprites. And I'm not satisfied! I
wish I had more - in most my rooms, I use the maximum of guardians
(perhaps, because most of them are harmless scenery) and all the
extra sprites.
If I've helped you then I'm feel happy.
IGOR MAKOVSKY.
P.S. Why Yahoo! writes my family like "Makovsy" - I'm MakovsKy. How
can I change this? Don't you know?
