Subject: Apologies and questions
First up I'd like to apologise for once again not releasing Maria on
Tour when I was supposed to. This is partially because I've been
working a lot of over time and I've been generally exhausted over the
weekend (I slept for 11 hours on saturday and I genuinely think I
needed it). Anyway Maria on Tour is 100% finished it's just the title
screen that is holding it back, and it's getting on my nerves
something rotten. Either way though it probably wouldn't have
mattered if I had have finished it because my computer has been
absolutely fucking useless over the last few days (illegal opping and
crashing at every opportunity). Forget the internet I only read the
group messages from friday onwards this morning. Anyway my Questions
are for Sendy mainly. First Is the Erix1 program free to all or just
Erix1 and his collaborators? Secondly Is it a large program or
moderately small? Thirdly is it difficult to use? and last but not
least is it for JSW 48k only or can it recognise newer versions? Also
rooms of favourite colour scheme Firstly Andrew Broads "Alien Priory"
screen from Goodnite Luddite, sticks in my head like a pocket knife
from a car thief (only it doesn't hurt as much). Partially because of
it's simple design but 2 tone grid blocks it just looks great I love
it. I actually credit Andrew for this room in the readme for Bizarre,
because this room inspired one in that yet unreleased game of mine.
Also there's "Platform Action" from Erix1's Maria vs some Bastards
which I still think is absolutley fucking fantastic. It's an almost
technically outstanding screen for JSW colour wise, imagine if that
room had have been in the original JSW. I think several people would
have choked on their tongues if it had of been. Anyway I've swung
round to my night off again and even though it's actually the day of
my night off I haven't gone to bed yet. When I get up I'm going to
try and finalise the title screen so I can get this game away from
me. I just want it away for the simple fact it's been finished ages
and I don't want to end up hating it because I couldn't draw a title
screen. Then I can finish the game I no longer wish to, but will
because I hyped it so much...........Bizarre. ERGH! the very thought
sends chills down my spine, but I've thought of a way to finish it
off roughlt how I wanted to with minimal effort. Forgive my lack of
effort but it's a game that has given nothing but grief since it was
30% complete, I've had to shift teleporters and re-write rooms from
scratch. I've had to delete sprites and redraw them, and I generally
think this game lost it "flow" long before I got as far as I did with
it. After I get this thorn out of my side I'm going to add to "The
man who Sold the World" and "7 days in the sun" and a little secret
project I've started in JSW 64 which could be a sequel to one of my
games (but maybe not, I guess I'll see how it comes along first).
Anyway massive post, keep writin'
Cheers
