Subject: Everything recently I.......er think?

Hello everyone, hmmm we have a lot of action recently so much so that
I'm finding it difficult to reply to or comment on everything so here
goes just some general stuff from this particular era.....well the
last 2 or 3 weeks to be precise....well just everything :)

I've even sorted it into paragraphs LOL :)

To Daniel "fall forever U cheating bastard" was put in there for those
who are frequent users of the writetyper cheat using it you should be
able to get there (although why you would is beyond me as it's a
neverending loop and you'll have to reset the game that's why it's
not in the readme, it was intended as a nasty surprise for cheaters).
Also regarding the WRITETYPER cheat, I've never got it to work on an
emulated JSW. I know it worked on my actual spectrum, I'm 100% sure.
But even if I could get it working I wouldn't use it anyway. Maybe
the reason I never got it working is cause I've never actually tried
it hahahaha!

One thing I noticed yesterday which I find interesting but slightly
spooky is every game I've released contains variants of the original
first few rooms "Bathroom", "Top Landing", Master Bedroom", "First
Landing", "The Chapel", "The Nightmare Room", and in some cases the
early rooms from JSW2 as well. Even though I serial promise not to
include them, but I think these rooms always make their way into the
game as a form of non-detachment from the original JSW. I think I'm
psycho analysing myself a little here but it's the only conclusion I
can come up with. However a few of my unreleased games don't contain
these rooms at all (yet haha!). The Thing, Benders Cheez it game, and
MONKEY! will not contain these rooms, however Bizarre will although I
haven't drawn them yet.

Regarding the new JSWED. Unfortunately I have had more than 1 crash in
the same places as always with the new JSWED........Whilst
manipulating the sprite editor or the guardian properties.

The World of spectrum site hmmmm...... I notice my earlier games have
made it onto there but I don't know about my newer ones I may go look
because I haven't been on there for months, apart from when I was
trying to get a copy of Drunken Policeman that doesn't crash in the
first room, I know that game is pants but I've never played a working
copy of it. I'm almost certain it doesn't work at all I had a "ahem"
Maxell or Memorex copy (or was it TDK LOL) of it for my speccy and
that wouldn't even load. But every other illicit game on that tape
would.

My final touch for this post is, well I don't know if it's the time of
year or what (since due to my money troubles I missed winter/christmas
2003 altogether and only just caught 2004 by a pubes distance). But
I'm glad to see after a long period of (I wouldn't say deadness
but....) Sluginess on this group, it has really came back to life in
the last few weeks. I only mention this because I remember reading a
few posts a few months back about a lack of group activity from a few
people. I don't know if it's cos' Me, Daniel, and Herve have recently
released games and we're all waiting on Igor and Sendys upcoming
goodies. Or like I say it's the time of year but I'm happy with the
large amount of group activity. Most of it is discussing things I'd
like to try from a technical point of view, and I may prep a dummy JSW
(so to speak) for trying out a few pokes and patches. I've decided
impending games will contain no modifications to the engines but the
new concepts and yet unwritten sequels will have some code switcheroo
involved. It's about time I re-stimulated my mind with more of a
challenge game wise instead of trying to cheat the game into doing
things it's not supposed to (I'm going to force it with code if I can
LOL).

Anyway in brief I think it's large group activity that helps me write
my games and I genuinely mean that, if the group had have just been
the odd post here and there I may have only just got round to
finishing "Still Stealin'". I genuinely think group activity is an
inspiration. Even though it took me hours to read all the messages
because my comps' gone screwy again it was worth it. I feel like in
the last few weeks I could churn out new rooms and sprites without
even thinking about it (I have done that before, the results can be
interesting yet somewhat unstable/balanced LOL) But anyway I plan to
have something ready for christmas not sure what but I need to get
Bizarre away from me so maybe you'll all be seeing that soon.

Cheers
