The forest is on the moon of Endor (which is the name of both the
planet and its moon). By Episode VI (Return of the Jedi), Endor the
planet had been destroyed, and Endor the moon was orbited by the
second Death Star.

The Death Star was protected by a deflector shield, whose generator
was located on the forest moon. Darth Sideous - the greatest of all
dark lords of the Sith - deliberately allowed the Rebellion to
discover the location of the shield generator, in order to lure his
future apprentice Luke Skywalker towards the dark side of the Force,
laying the foundations for the events of Episodes VII-IX...

It's so cool that there's a reference to Endor in Manic Miner, which
was released in the same year as Return of the Jedi, after all!
Clearly the guardians in that room are supposed to be Ewoks.

Endor is also the name (in Quenya) of the continent containing the
locations in J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Gotta love anything
that links Star Wars and Tolkien together! :)

There's even a place in the Bible called Endor. It's the village in
Canaan where King Saul consulted the medium through whom the
deceased prophet Samuel foretold his death [1 Samuel 28:7].
