have to explain myself a little:
I'm a computer geek. Plain and simple. This means my life somewhat
largely revolves around all things computable. I have too many
activities, like being an IRC junkie (since 1996!), experimental
coding & general hacking (ex. textmode graphics library for *NIX:ish
systems).
I compose chiptunes with various computers (c64, atari st, pc, msx). I
also do websites professionally for money. And on top of that, I'm a
university student, and I _do_ try to have a social life too! ;)
But in all this ("short") list of my going-ons, I do have some time
for Willy, it's just not as top priority for me, as the other things.
I'd like it if I had the inspiration and kind-of devotion to Willy as
some of you do (which I greatly admire, especially Dr. Broad, Drunken
Master, Igor and Sendy).
To summarize, Alternative Polls IS coming. It's under some very heavy
redesign, as I literally started it from scratch. Some of the features
I did on the older version will surface on the new, but I wasn't happy
with the state of things, and decided to start from the beginning.
Willy will visit the presidential candidate campaign offices, and the
game will resemble Bizarre in many ways, as I've particularily grown
fond of Drunker Master's "story-mode" JSW-gaming. I'll also experiment
with the former-mentioned "adventure music"-idea I had, I'll post
about it if anything will come out of it.
The basic (revamped) premise is:
1. Willy time-travels to 1930's. (No explanation why or how, as this
bit is inspired by Hugo Pratt's Corto Maltese, a seemingly ageless
adventurer who is thrown into the story by the author. In one story,
he even exits the story thru a door saying: "I want to get out of this
story")
2. Cast away and penniless, Willy gets a job as a news photographer.
3. He visits the campaign offices, unfolding a scandal of sorts.
4. He goes to develop the photos (with a room for each "photo")
5. The story on the paper is a smash, fame and forture ensues.
6. Willy is backed up to try local politics.
7. Great political battles, maybe with real historical accuracy, or
fiction, haven't decided that yet.
8. Capitol Hill -> Maria, Presidential Seat -> Toilet.
..phew!
