Subject: JSW: The DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!! SE
Hello people JSW:TDm SE is at a second BETA finished stage. I have now
fully finished every room from the original release, some of the
slightly twitchy original rooms have been converted back to their
original JSW forms. Some are still JSW 1 perfect which is why I say
BETA finished again because some of the improvements graphically and
design wise may result in me having to change them. About 5 of the
existing rooms not mentioned in the original readme have been
mentioned as new rooms, and at present there are 9 original or
slightly modified rooms, and 2 removed or deleted rooms taking the
total to 63. I am going to tidy the map up fully then playtest the
game before I add the brand new rooms or sprites to the game, or I may
just add them and a nice title screen before playtesting the finished
product Not sure which yet, but either way it'll be one of the above).
I'll say it again the end of the month is a very realistic release
time, I would say sooner but my girlfriend will be here so no JSW
after the 17th unless she's asleep LOL. I don't plan to add a large
number of new rooms just the ones I couldn't fit and as I say a few
brand new ones. I've dug out my notes from years ago and laughed
extremely hard and some of my primitive designs, and also at some of
the high hopes I had in the first place (Some are ridiculous, think
JSW 64 meets Geoff and Erix 1 mode with 255 rooms and you're still far
out, some of my original plans would've made JSW play more like a
Dizzy game). However my original plans don't seem so funny now when
you compare them to how far this game has come. We as a whole have
probably designed enough JSW games with amazing features, be it via
programming, patching, poking, cheating the game into doing
irregular things, or just ingenious design. That if there was a time
machine to take all these games back to the 80's on cassette. we could
be superbeings of the home computer era. Viva la JSW, for this game
although confined to the past IS the future.
I'll hopefully finish the game before the 17th.
cheers
DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!
