Heh, yeah. I personally think that the discovery of the quirky
features really livened up the JSW&MM remakes, with always something
new to come across. I personally like the idea of deliberately
exploiting the bugs _at any game_, since it's always great to "go
over the programmer's expectations". Having said that, I have always
personally thought of the remake-scene as a bit of an inside thing,
not many of games are that accessible to "outsiders" ;D

ONE OF US, ONE OF US.

Well, maybe, maybe not. Actually, when you think back of the days
when some of the Spectrum & C-64 and such games were new, and you got
the cheap cassette version from a bargain bin without any manuals. I
personally know (as an emulation fan) many games that are utterly
incomprehensible and unplayable.

At least UMM is playable even without any knowledge of "quirky
features", with a bit of luck and experimentation. I myself know
little about the said features, and I almost never remember any of
them while playing, but I still seem to be able to complete even the
trickiest screens people have designed. I just try to be adventorous
and not always try the obvious thing first.

Personally, I welcome this discussion with people not that closely
knit with the real "fanbase" of Willy games.

Actually, are we the only active people that still do content
redefining on Spectrum games? I know that the consoles have a much
bigger thing on that.
