Subject: A couple of things from Daniel
1. To Andrew
Thanks a lot for the explanation, it will make my "Technical Notes"
complete :-) .
2. To Sendy

may have exaggerated a little when I spoke about "manual hacking"
:-) , even though the game WILL have various features which go beyond
what you can do in JSWED. I lack very basic knowledge about Z80 (or
programming at all), and contrary to some of the Group members (the
ones I call "technically-knowledgeable"), I wouldn't be able to do
anything new at all.
What I have done - mainly by studying JSW disassemblies and trying to
understand how things work by comparison and logic - is that I have
moved some things from one place in memory to another, in order to be
able to use that other space in memory (together with otherwise
unused space) more effectively. And I have applied some things
invented by other people and applied previously in their games, or
invented by other people but not applied previously. Or I have
partially applied some things invented by other people, giving them a
new angle, as it were...
All the changes I applied manually will be well documented in
the "Read me" text file, which I think will allow anyone interested
to apply them (or some of them) in their own projects, using the Hex
editor of JSWED. Not that that many people will be interested,
because, understandably, JSW64 is the hot thing these days, and good
old JSW48 is not exactly in the centre of everyone's interest, I
presume :-) .
Sorry, again I will refrain from saying any more at this point. But
the game is probably about two to three weeks from its gamma release,
so be patient! And Sendy, I will send you the file for playtesting if
you want :-) . I have a couple of other volunteers, too, so this
should do it :-) .

overdue as a gamma release, if I may say so. I never gave you any
opinion on the beta versions, but this is mainly because Andrew did
so - and who can add anything substantial after Dr. Broad? :-)
3. To Everyone
I feel that after a more relaxed pace over a period of time, there is
new energy entering the Club (and the MM/JSW scene) again! :-) Igor
is at least "kind of" back (I'm not sure how "official" your return
is, Igor :-) ), Sendy is back, Herve continues working on his
marvellous games, Andrew will be "more intensely" back soon after the
tennis distractions are over (if I understand the situation
correctly :-) ), DrUnKeN mAsTeR will be back soon when his girlfriend
leaves back for the US (isn't that right, DM?) and I know there are
other people out there working on their projects, too. So I hope it
will be a good JSW summer this year :-) . Let's keep editing!
Daniel
