Subject: "We Pretty" - RZX walkthrough
Would anyone like to see "We Pretty" being completed without much
hesitation and without a single loss of life? There it is: you can
now download an RZX walkthrough from
http://www.rzxarchive.co.uk/games.aspx?letter=j#jswwepretty
For the new ones among us (and I am happy to see that the membership
is the Group is still growing): "We Pretty" is Andrew Broad's first
gamma-released JSW game and one that set incredibly high standards as
far as difficulty level is concerned. It was also the first game to
purposefully exploit various "quirky features" of the game engine (it
is necessary to note that a part of JSW community perceives these
features as "bugs" and rejects their use as special challenges, while
others enjoy solving puzzles based on them).
Needless to say, recording the RZX walkthrough was a job of many
hours, first of research (such as map-making and identifying various
tricks by looking at the game in JSWED - I know, it's kind of
cheating...) and then putting the results into practice. And still -
I cursed and admired Andrew in turn as I arrived at "The Carrot of
Reflection" with all of the items collected previously - and
discovered I had to re-record a good portion of the game...
Great job, Andrew!
Daniel
