My vertical lifts do carry the player up with them! But they
currently do so in a jerky manner, as my idea is to align the
player's vertical position to a character-row to iron out bugs, and
later to offset the position at which the player is actually drawn,
in the same way that ramps do.

My vertical lifts do not yet carry the player down with them - you
just fall. There's still work to be done on the row-matching logic...

Yes indeed! One day, I really must study a disassembly of Erix1-mode,
and document the room-format.
