Subject: JSW dream last night
I dreamed I was playing a JSW game. Unfortunately - unlike the first
cavern in Ma jolie - it was not vivid enough to reproduce.
But I do remember that when I stood on the bottom row of the Master
Bedroom - and I really do mean the bottom row, with Willy's legs in
Row 15 - and walked left out of the screen, it went into this weird
horizontal-scrolling mode!
It was similar to what happens when you move from room to room in
Radzone: the destination-room would scroll the source-room off the
screen (one cell-column per time-frame - the scrolling was only
horizontal), leaving Willy behind.
But instead of Willy reappearing in the destination-room, the left-
and right-keys would cause further horizontal scrolling, and in this
way, I could control myself all over the house! Well, only left or
right, as JSW doesn't have up- or down-keys, therefore there was no
vertical scrolling.
One thing to clarify: the scrolling would continue automatically
until the destination-room had completely appeared, but pressing left
or right could reverse the direction of the scrolling. When a room
had completely appeared, the scrolling would stop, but pressing left
or right would set it off again. I didn't have the presence of mind
to try pressing jump or any other key.
