It is strange, indeed.
If you get desperate, let me know and I'll send you my message
archive, which should make it easy for you to find things. I keep
most of the Group messages since November 2004 (which is when I
joined the Group) - except for a few which practically didn't have
any content - archived in Microsoft Word documents, divided
chronologically. I've got 16 or 17 document files at this point. It
is very easy to search for words and phrases in these documents
(that's why I archive the messages this way), and the subjects which
interest you were probably mainly discussed after Nov. 2004, so they
should be in the messages I've got.
A disclaimer: you wouldn't have the message numbers, because I don't
keep them, and you wouldn't have all the dates of when each message
was posted, because I keep only some dates. But even knowing the
approximate date, you could rather easily find any given message in
the online archive (if you needed to identify the message number).
Should anyone else want to take advantage of my files, please do not
hesitate to let me know. I will be happy to send them to you, just as
Edward Martland kindly sent me his offline archive once (in the form
of individual text messages), which allows me to browse offline also
the messages from before November 2004, and for which I am grateful
to him to this very day :-) .
Daniel
