If Byte 0 is assigned a value of 65 (i.e. setting Bits 5 and 6), then the guardian starts off moving left with Animation Frame 3, and therefore avoids sinking into the snow whilst being exactly symmetrical with the other skier (assuming that values of 1C and AE for Bytes 2 and 3 are maintained, as listed above).
N.B. Whilst I have verified that the above works as I describe, I haven't actually playtested the screen 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' to completion with the tweak in place.
