Unless, that is, Willy is standing on the leftmost cell of the Crumbly Conveyor - in that case, no 'smear' is left behind when the left of the conveyor crumbles away.  (N.B. This is the case regardless of whether the conveyor animation is leftwards or rightwards - conveyor animation is always drawn from the left to the right.)

and Conveyor. Thus an Earth-cell that is horizontally adjacent to an
Air-cell behaves as Conveyor when you're also standing on the Air-
cell.

Surely in that scenario, it's actually the Air cell under one half of Willy that is acting as a Conveyor, rather than the Earth cell?

Although having said that, the Earth cell underneath the other half of Willy's sprite is maintaining his position vertically, thus allowing the Air cell's conveying action to take effect.  So I suppose it's a combination of the effect of both.
