I suppose you could count the fact that the first and third pixel-rows of the remainder of the conveyor are cleared - when Willy stands on the left-hand cell of the Crumbly-Conveyor - as a 'negative smear' on those remaining cells!
But my main point is that if you clear a Crumbly Conveyor from left to right, then no smear remains along the Air cells that are left in its place.
