Subject: Re: Quirky conveyors in MM
On the subject of selecting pixel-rows for animation that are lower down within the host cells than is usually the case, there is a good reason why this is relatively easy to achieve in the MM game engine, but not in JSW (and hence, presumably, the reason why JSWED supports the option in the former, but not in the latter):
- In Manic Miner, the Conveyor Start Address is specified in the Graphics Buffer (#7xxx);
- Whereas in Jet Set Willy, the Conveyor Start Address is specified in the first instance within the Attribute Buffer (#5Exx or #5Fxx), from which its address in the Graphics Buffer is subsequently calculated.
