Subject: Re: Solar Beams and non-Air cells
There could be alternative routes, which are easier to access but which aren't protected in that way. It may take the player a while to realise that the Crumbly/Conveyor route will protect them.
Of course, a solar beam isn't a fixed obstacle; its position constantly changes if it is deflected (without being terminated) by moving guardians. So one could devise a 'dynamic' layout with a significant challenge element.
Perhaps there might be a moving guardian within the Crumbly/Conveyor cells, designed so that its pixels don't collide with those of the Crumbly* or Conveyor**, but which can collide with Willy!?
(* In which case the guardian's pixels may have to occupy only the bottom pixel-row of the Crumbly cells, as you can't have a blank pixel-row higher than that in a Crumbly cell, without it becoming a 'fast crumbly' that leaves a ghost.)
(** In which case the topmost and third pixel-row of the guardian should probably be blank, as the infilled pixels at that level of the Conveyor cells will be constantly moving as the Conveyor animates.)
