When I drafted the above, I wasn't that familiar with the layout of 'JSW: Mind Control', but now having taken a sneaky peek at a map of the game, it seems that the only way to access 'Fresh air ain't always good 4 U' is to climb up the rope from 'The Pool Table'?
If that is the case, then it probably affirms my earlier theory. Indeed, it might even explain why others didn't witness the same phenomenon as Danny, if they investigated by setting the start room to 'Fresh air...' in JSWED and then following Danny's instructions - thus missing out the crucial step of climbing up the 'Pool Table' rope beforehand.
