Subject: New quirky effect in a Kong cavern

 

Place the conveyor in one of the Kong Beast caverns so that it passes through the upper half of the opening wall (make sure there is at least one conveyor cell to the left of the opening wall), and then reinstate the upper Earth block of the opening wall at (11,17). i.e. so that the conveyor animation passes through the upper half of the opening wall.


Now load up the game file, make your way to the appropriate Kong room and flip the left-hand switch.


Result: the wall starts to collapse as per usual, but the process never completes and the two Earth blocks never fully clear to Air, making it impossible to pass from the left to the right half of the cavern!


Explanation: the conveying action of the conveyor shifts pixels into the third pixel-row of the upper half of the opening wall, so that the Kong routine never proceeds past that pixel-row (nor past the third-from bottom pixel-rows of the lower half of the opening wall).
