Author: Fabián Álvarez López (Adban de Corcy)
Year: 2002
Language: English
Madam Blavskja's Carnival Macabre was Fabián Álvarez López (Adban de Corcy)'s third JSW game and the first one using the JSW128 game engine. It followed Willy's Afterlife and A Bulgarian Requiem. It was released in March 2002 and had, according to the author's own words, "all the elements" the players "loved and hated in 'Afterlife' and 'Requiem': colorful characters, odd story, and a gothic carnival that hides a dark secret".
The game uses Hacklevel 8 of the JSW128 game engine.
Fabián Álvarez López explained that he made Madam Blavskja's Carnival Macabre a 128K game so that he would be able "to include more graphics for guardians, not more rooms".
Daniel Gromann ported the game to 48K. The 48K Edition was released in March 2020.
The original 128K edition of the game was not fully completable because of a bug which prevented the transition to Game Mode 3 upon reaching what should be the completion of the game. A bugfixed, completable version was included in the 48K Edition ZIP file.
The information below refers to this bug-fixed, fully completable edition of the game.
