Well, if you had something other than ROM just before the screen, it
might not be so happy.

Of course, there's no reason why (on a +3) it has to be ROM there.
Page out the ROM and use the memory for sprites and a custom font.
Load extra banks of rooms from diskette as required. Hmmm.
