Subject: Semi OT: Cronosoft release Speccy Platform Game Designer

... And I bought it... It's really excellent, but to be honest, I
think JSW64 and the latest JSWED make a much more flexible Platform
Game Development Kit than it. Now it's unfair to compare 128 engines
with 48k ones, but even so, I thought it was odd that there were a few
people in the thread at the WOS forum saying they've always wanted to
make their own platform game, and yet they've never tried the MM/JSW
scene! I wanted to post something in the theread, but I don't want to
risk cutting off business from small Indy developers.

Features of the designer are:
Platforms, Walls, Crumblers (only in room-by-room MM style games),
On/Off blinking floors, Air blocks, Conveyors in either direction (and
they animate: ALL of them), keys and doors (also only in MM games), 4
enemies per room, freeform allocation of memory, music editor, 8 frame
character animation, 4 frame guardian animation (so you can't have
directional HG's), unlimited number of blocks per room (memory permitting)

Downsides:
Sprites seem to flicker a lot sometimes, collision isn't as tight as
it is in MM/JSW, that's about it. Otherwise it's excellent.

I just wanted to congratulate John on what is probably the best 8 bit
platformgame dev kit in the world! *party hats and stuff*
