Subject: Lovecraftian Willy update and a switch question
Hi All! How's it all going?
For anyone that's interested , I've stuck 5 more screen shots
from "A very Lovecraftian Willy" in the Photos section under DD's
games.
Standing stones is a tribute to the top row of screens from the
Original JSW(well, those under the watch tower!)with that psuedo 3d
effect.
Throughout the game , Maria is now relegated to being chased around
by various Cthuloid nasties like the Lloigor seen here. She also
gets menaced by the Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath and possibly a
hoard of Byakhee. The object of the game is actually to attain
entry into the Dreamlands. So her original role is now filled by
the two Dreamlands priests, Kaman-Thah and Nasht. Once Willy has
collected the Items he is deemed worthy of entry! And so on with the
sequel in the Dreamlands, he he! Hope you like!
Hey , can anyone help me with a subtle problem I'm having with
switches?(this is a 64Y variant BTW- with JSW1 design sensibilities
and 64engine features) Technically the switches work ace! But
I've noticed that when The Willy sprite collides with an inked pixel
of a switch graphic, the whole row of pixels for the switch is
obliterated. Is there anyway that willy's sprite can merge with the
graphic as in Manic Miner and JSW2 rather than wipe out the whole
row of pixels?
Cheers Folks!
DD
