Subject: Daniel's request to Sendy, Andrew and DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!

I am preparing the text file to be released with "Jet Set Willy:
Mind Control", and in it I would like to expand the section of my
favourite quotes. I would like to include quotations by Sendy,
Andrew and DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!, which I have taken from your texts
published recently in the Club. I had to edit them slightly, and so
I would like to ask the three of you to confirm that it is OK to
quote your words, and to authorise the wording used below or send me
a corrected version:

1. Quote credited to: "Sendy (Alex Corhnill)"

"There are great JSW games which are stylishly minimal but work
masterfully with themed clusters of rooms with similar graphics for
the blocks. Other games cram an insane amount of challenge into
condensed and attractive packages. You see so many different styles,
each as individual as the author that penned (moused?) it. This
clearly shows that JSW is art with a lot of room for individual
expression".

2. Quote credited to: "Dr. Andrew Broad"

"Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy have exquisite game-mechanics.
There's an elegant simplicity to the controls (left, right and
jump). You know exactly how far you can walk to the edge of a
platform without falling off, and the pixel-based collision-
detection for guardians means you get to weave your way through them
at close range.

The ability to edit is what keeps the MM/JSW scene moving forwards.
Because each room has its own block-graphics and 32x16 character-
squares, the possibilities for new rooms are limited only by our
imaginations.

What makes these games particularly attractive to me is that there
are many quirks in the game-engines, such as the way that if you
jump through an isolated wall-block at the correct angle, you go
slap through the floor below! I love discovering these quirky
features, finding unintended loopholes in games, and deliberately
exploiting them in my own games".

3. Quote credited to: "DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!"

"A REAL gamer knows that Sonic and Alex Kidd before him wouldn't
have existed, that Donkey Kong and Mario wouldn't have existed if it
wasn't for Willy. That Rayman and Crash Bandicoot wouldn't have
existed if it wasn't for Willy. So all these so-called progressive
gamers can stick that in their pipes and smoke it cos' Willy will
outlive any fashionable game character til' the year 3005. That's
what I say!"

In the future I would like to use these quotations also on the
JSW/MM website I plan to create. Please, let me know if you have any
objections.

Daniel
