Hi - I can get a java Speccy emulator MIDlet to run with a JSW ROM
attatched on my PC, it's very buggy and key controls need to be
hacked etc, most of the speccy midlets work fine on the Java Wireless
SDK/ EclipseME etc. with tweaking - but won't work at all on
microemulator, I've tried altering just about every possible setting,
JAR-ing and Un-JAR-ing until 6am at times, I can get it to work on
my PC with Wireless SDK emulating a 1.0ME phone, (nice!! LOL) but
when I produce the final JAR/JAD build of the ZX emu with JSW and
transfer it to my phone (SIEMENS AX72 running Java 1.0 Midlets) even
though I have the settings correct, my PC emu is set to CICE/MIME 1.0
(not 2.0) it WILL NOT WORK on my phone, only my PC!! All I want
really is to play JSW on my phone - a Speccy emulator which can play
other 48k games as well would be nice! Any suggestions where I can
find any downloads that would help? I keep getting error messages
with ZXPlay on my phone - (Unable to create class in system package)
My friend has JSW java ruunning on his phone, this is just a standard
java port of the speccy game (which I have running nicely on my Java
VM on my PC) but my phone only runs 1.0 midlets? maybe I have to buy
a decent phone which will run java applets and forget midlets, or
upgrade to a 2.0 midlet phone? Surely if I can force my homebrew 1.0
MIDlet ZX emu+JSWrom package to run on a 1.0ME emulator on my PC, it
should run on my phone somehow? Thanks, any suggestions as to how to
get JSW for my phone appreciated! Even if you suggest buying a
SYMBIAM or more sophisticated java-enabled phone! arrr WTH I should
just get a fully java-enabled phone and upload one of the numerous
applets to it - like I say, I must have by now about 5 Speccy MIDlet
wmulators (which are kinda funky apart from they only work on my PC)
about 10 java speccy emu applets (HOB, Jasper etc), and at last 2
java ports of JSW, along with about 15 different ROM images/snapshot
files of JSW - I can only get partial success.
